Leamington Spa, UK – July 17, 2025 – Two IP, a pioneering, tech-enabled patent and trade mark attorney firm, has joined the IP Charter for Energy Transition (IP4ET) as a member, as part of the firm’s commitment to developing a better way of working within the IP profession. Two IP joins a number of private practice firms, corporate IP departments, and tech and service providers as part of IP4ET, co-founded by global integrated logistics company Maersk and international IP services firm Rouse, in building a community for IP stakeholders.
Launched earlier this year, the IP4ET Vision is to raise awareness of climate-related challenges across the IP community, lower IP supply chain green-house gas (GHG) emissions and facilitate transition to technologies with lowered GHG emissions. The Charter focusses on creating and accelerating the adoption of best practices for decarbonising the IP supply chain.
Two IP’s disruptive operating model—where patent and trade mark attorneys operate under a fee-share consultancy structure, working remotely from home and supported by a shared technology platform—resonates strongly with the Charter’s principles. By minimizing traditional office commuting and relying on a central shared workspace for its HQ, Two IP has embedded lower-carbon operations into its business design.
Dr Anna Molony, founder of Two IP, emphasized the importance of sustainable innovation within the profession:
“We believe that Two IP’s decentralized and digital-first model already offers a lower-carbon alternative to traditional private practice. But we know there’s more to be done. Joining the IP Charter for Energy Transition is a chance for us to contribute to sector-wide solutions—especially around emerging challenges like the energy impact of AI tools being rapidly adopted across the IP landscape.”
Dr Molony added that Two IP is particularly interested in exploring how the profession can monitor, control, and potentially offset the increasing carbon footprint associated with the deployment of AI in IP services.
“We’re excited to collaborate with other IP4ET members to ensure that innovation within the IP profession doesn’t come at the expense of the planet,” she said.
